A Message from Richard Risinger
to the Residents of Harris County

To my fellow residents of Harris County:

I am running to be your next Judge of the 295th Civil District Court in Harris County, for We The People.  I will be a candidate on the March 6, 2018 Republican Party Primary ballot (early voting starts on February 20, 2018).  Anyone registered to vote in Harris County can vote for this judgeship.  Governor Greg Abbott will be at the top of the Republican Party Primary ballot.  I respectfully ask you to continue down the ballot to vote for me, Richard Risinger!

Also, I respectfully ask you to join Team Risinger now to help me win this race for Judge of the 295th!

I believe strongly that We The People deserve justice in a fair and expeditious manner.  I have gained valuable experience over the years as a public servant and I am prepared to be your judge for this court.

If elected, I pledge that:

  • I will uphold my oath of office throughout my judgeship, just as I have done throughout my professional career;
  • I will be honored and humbled to continue being a public servant, in a new capacity, for We The People;
  • I will make decisions based on the law and the facts; and
  • I will ensure that the court is fair and efficient.

A Career of Public Service

I have served the community as a municipal attorney, including as legal advisor, prosecutor, and civil litigation attorney, for over 26 years.  I also served the community as a municipal judge, for which I was appointed by current Harris County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 8, Place 2, Louie Ditta.  As an attorney and judge, I took the oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States and of this State, and I have upheld my oath throughout my professional career.

As a legal advisor and an attorney for mayors, other city officials, supervisors, and employees of the city, I have provided legal advice and services regarding several different areas of law and issues.

As a prosecutor, I helped resolve thousands of cases through negotiations and through jury trials, as well as judge trials.

As a civil litigation attorney, I have been lead counsel in numerous legal matters, including claims, lawsuits, appeals, hearings, and negotiating in mediations. I have also worked with outside counsel on such legal matters.

As a judge, I made decisions based on the law and the facts. I also attended the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center Judges Seminar every year.

I have gained valuable experience over the years working with mayors, other city officials, chiefs of police, police officers, firefighters, supervisors, employees, legal secretaries, volunteers, judges, clerks, bailiffs, court reporters, attorneys, witnesses, jurors, and residents.

I have also served the community by leading and/or volunteering with several organizations, including:

• 2012 Republican Party Nominee for Judge of the 80th Civil District Court (Harris County)

• Pasadena South Rotary – Past President/Member

• Preston Trails South Neighborhood Association – Past President/Member

• Pasadena Noon Optimist Club – Past President

• Walnut Hill Owner’s Association – Past President

• Clear Lake Area Republicans – Past President/Member

• Cherry Tree Republicans – Member

• Downtown Houston Pachyderm Club – Member

• Bay Area Republican Women – Associate Member

• San Jacinto Republican Women – Associate Member

• Delegate to Texas Republican State Conventions

• Delegate to the Texas Republican Presidential Straw Poll

• First Christian Church of Pasadena

• Coach Little League Baseball

I am a native and life-long resident of Harris County.  My wife and I have been blessed with two wonderful children and attend First Christian Church of Pasadena.  We have also been very involved in the community for many years.

I graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1982.  Thereafter, I attended Sam Houston State University, then continued my education at the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Finance major, in 1986.  I went on to study law at Pepperdine University law school in Malibu, California and London, England, then completed my Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Houston law school in 1990.

In closing, I want to thank you for taking your valuable time to review my qualifications and to consider joining my team and voting for me.  I respectfully ask you to join my team, Team Risinger, now and to vote for me, Richard Risinger, to be your next Judge of the 295th Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas, for We The People.

Sincerely,

Richard Risinger
